Feet on the ground
I wear shoes all the time outside. Hard not to, we have rattlesnakes, yellowjacket wasps, scorpions, etc. But when I am not in some big hurry, I will go out in my yard with my pups, sit under a Japanese umi plum I grew from seed years ago, in it's shade and take off my shoes and socks. Just sit bare feet on the grass. My lawn is not just grass, it has clovers, dandelions, bare spots, wild sweet peas around the edges, chickens on the other side of the fence. I love it. My homestead was settled in the 1920's, I am sure earlier. But I got to know the son of the folks who lived here then. He just passed away this year. Was such a great guy. I still take care of the old apple tree, Concord grape, and unknown wine grape his mother planted way back then. Their old house is long gone. Ours is over a bit close...
