What you eat....
I think this is a topic that is both basic and all over the map. The guides tell me not to worry overall , just choose foods you are eating in their basic original form, and avoid as much as possible
too much processed, none on a daily basis.
Which is a huge tangle right there. So I suppose common sense has to prevail.
I am a omnivarian, with a bit of bread tossed in. Veggies, meat, eggs, whole grains, fruit. Try to keep it as organic as possible but choke on the prices at times. Like my own fruits and veggies better.
So I believe in eating with the seasons. Due to the fact, plums and grapes in January, are from countries that most likely have no restrictions on toxic pesticides, etc.
I also think a little sweetness in life here and there is fine, just make it a treat, not a several times a day, every day habit. And you can become addicted to candy, sugary drinks, and the like, don't think you can't.
But a celebration of a birthday, some special kind of get together with family and friends, a piece of cake, pie, etc. is not going to make or break you diet, much less your health.
I know people who will make themselves the center of attention by loudly proclaiming they don't want any, and then why no one should eat any either. It's called obcessive behavior.
And as to fat, well in this country, seems since the advent of fat free this and that, we are worse off than ever. The food lies told are staggering to try and figure out who is telling the truth. I try to work with my own body, I am not skinny, could use some pounds gone, but then again I move around all day long, walk, and sleep pretty good most nights. And wake up, have a cuppa, and here I will say, I buy organic coffee in large bags, as this is my brain jump start, and I don't want pesticidesin it, and I want to give the coffee farmers who choose to grow organic a fair wage to keep them going. I wish I could be a coffee farmer. I have a coffee tree in my house, and love it. However.....
My advice, try your best to eat what makes you feel well and with a fair amount of energy. Have the occasional beer, the occasional sweet, but not every day. Make it a pleasure, not something to feel bad about the next day. And then go back to you normal habits.
Water is good, hmmm? Well, your kidneys need it, as water is the universal solvent in the body.
But sometimes you can do too much of a good thing. The kidneys can get overworked a bit.
Drink more if you are excerting yourself in heat or cold, then also try to listen to your body, Thirst says more water please, not more energy drink. Running to the bathroom once an hour, hmmm?
Maybe time to dial it back a notch.
Learn to listen to your own body. It will speak for itself. Eating lots of poor empty nutrient food, it will say to you, I am tired, run down, no energy for doing things that will give my body the movement it needs.
You don't have to go to a gym, try getting out and walking. You don't have to go on some dumbass diet you see advertised on television. Try switching out empty calories for real food.
Unprocessed you cook yourself, you make your own salads.
In the winter, if you have a spot, you can eat out of a cold frame. Many things, do research.
Nutrient rich greens, even carrots you started earler. I know people often don't have a spot, but a couple of pots of kale you can pick the leaves off and eat as baby greens, or steam will go into
giving your body what it needs. All it needs is a cool spot, started in August, and you to watch over it.
And you do not have to look like a skinny super model, pumped up pretty boy actor, you just have to feel good, have energy, and move about enough to keep your bones strong, your mind
balanced and you better able to move this world in a better way.
Stop letting the television, movies, magazine adds dictate how you should look. Love yourself, nourish yourself, be yourself. No holds barred, the true you who feels it.
