Into each life sometimes it snows...........

It is rather funny as I sit and look out the window. Today, I was hoping to practice and then write down the steps of a meditation that the guides have wanted me to do. It is March 30th, and I woke up to snow. And it is still snowing. Lots and lots. The ways of the Universe are often veiled, and sometimes very humorous. Yesterday I went downtown, which also for me is going downhill. Into a lower elevation and often odd as it seems a difference in weather. Also a different valley from the one I live in. Though I am on the fringe of my valley, in a canyon in the foothills of it close to the "Big Valley" where the heart of commerce and population lives in my area of this state. I can have the most beautiful sunny day here and then travel "downtown" and it is just socked in with fog. And often I am underdressed or overdressed. I geared up yesterday , put on a warm fleecy long coat, s...

How do you want to experience life?

The best description of how we can choose to experience the world around us and how we can limit ourselves to a very safe existence I heard just the other day. The speaker was comparing sitting in a bathtub to the way most people apply paramenters and controls to how they live life and see what they want to . In a bathtub, the water has to just be so high so it doesn't overflow, the temperature has to be adjusted to keep warm, not too cold, not too hot, and you only have so much wiggle room. Learning to live with less control, less attachment to outcome means going from the bathtub to the ocean. In the ocean, it is vast, you swim, and if you learn to leave the shore behind, it is you and the ocean, and how about how long you can keep your head above water? How about if you just let trust be your life preserver? How about if you stop struggling and float for a while, relax and instead of being and feeling separate, feel as if you are part...

So a Happy Spring Equinox to all on the road

Here we go, starting the tilt of the Northern pole towards the Sun. I celebrated by planting some lovely Violas in a pot, cleaning out my chick pen in my feed shed and moving my six pullets down there. They have feathered out and will still have heat light at night, but are on the road to being a grown up hen. Simple creatures chickens are, of the moment, they easily express happiness, bad moods and are very concerned with their place in the flock, but they don't let it rule their evey moment. If it is a sunny day with good things to eat, that is all they need to live a happy life. I also am drinking hard cider, ate some homemade cookies, and have decided to just sit and chill for a while. I am listening to a CD by a Richard Bartlett who teaches Matrix Energetics. Most of what he says, I concur with. But am still working through it. Anyway, I was guided to write a somewhat hard core email to some friends who seem to well, linger on the worst case scen...

What the guides say about the use of drugs that alter the brainwaves and that includes pot too.

I am not going to preach, etc. About any thing moral, the law, or your character. It is part of your homework, not mine. I know so many people who use pot, less so other things nowadays. Not like in the '60's and '70's and so on. The medicinal aspect of pot has some things to be said for it, but that has been overrated also. It is not a cure all for what people make it out to be, I have first hand experience of that. But having not smoked for over twenty five years, except for one hit one time in Hawaii, which reminded me why I stopped in the first place, I totally was blitzed out. And that was to be sociable and ended up embarrassing the hell out of me. The next day I thought to myself, how the hell do people even function when they smoke as much as they do. Oh yeah, build up a tolerance, right? So, my guides want to short and sweet. Any thing that changes your mood, alters your thought patterns, or put you to sleep lowers your frequency. It makes you open to things th...

Rainy weather, with a chance of ants

Ever wonder why and how insects and animals know about things and we do not seem to be able to get even a hint about changes in either the weather , or some kind of Earth event that will have an impact. Well, unless we are pyschic. Or as the term is now slightly out of favor, intuitive. Boy, have I heard that one slung about a lot lately. Well, I am one, call it what you will. Not that having this ability has earned me fame and fortune, or helped me win the lotto. And as for that chance of ants, I have had ants in my computer. Just moved in lock, stock and ant eggs into my laptop. And into one of my fish tank filters. That was about three days ago. And boy is it raining like mad outside, and cold. So having been awoken by the warm balmy weather we had here last month, they knew somehow it was taking a downturn and made a move, and the rest is history. People say "WHAT?" when I tell them...

Dancing in the Four Directions

This is based on something I learned long ago, it is Native American in origin. Though at this point in time, I honestly don't remember what tribe, nation, or shaman might claim it, not even sure if anyone could. I learned it well over thirty years ago from a Blackfoot friend. You'll need a compass and a sunny day, with some space to site a circle with the north, south, east, west all set down and the ability to move around inside facing out. Start inside, facing North. Hands out. Let the sun fall on your forehead, eyes closed, and the palms of your hands. Step forward on one leg, use the one you lead with, are comfortable with. Bend the knee, put out the arms forward of you palms up, catch the light, lift the arms, palms to the forehead, eyes still closed. Watch the colors, move down into your throat, heart, solar plexus(solar huh?) stomach, root chakra, out the feet into the Earth, step bac...

Being aware of energetic pitfalls and learning to love yourself

I don't know if it is the weather, but it just seems to me that some of my animal companions are a little irritable lately. My cats in particular, but I can honestly say the dogs too. The cats are quite pissy with each other, where either they ignore those they don't have close relationships with, or they do have close affectionate ties. Now even when they spend time outside in the sun, they are still easily set off, hiss, growling. the dogs have has a couple of tiffs. Nothing serious, just out of line over all for them. This behavior extends to my guinea pigs, chickens, though I think my tortoises are for the most part fairly peaceful creatures, very lazy, and as reptiles more inclined to soak up the heat. The fish are fine, no troubles there. But mammals and birds, oh yes. So then I wonder, is it something else besides the weather. They have all been through winters before, we get out everyday and walk regularly, the cats amble out to sit on the decks now...
