My thoughts on the next year and the impact of the ecomony.

Not going to be one of those " I see the future and this is what is going to happen" kind of things. Not going to get specific here. Not too much anyway.

But....here goes.

Keep working on your energy excercises, grounding to the Earth when you are through. For reference check the archives here, and read, please read anything on energy fields you come across. Learn to make this a time to find personal tranquility. On a daily basis, it will see you through. Do your homework, clear your personal issues, stay away from people who want to use you as a dumping ground for their toxic emotional waste. If they can't get it together, it is not going to do you any good to try and help them. They don't want to resolve whatever it they harp on about, as it gives them their "drama" fix over and over. You do not need it. You will have to deal with a lot as it is, so clear them out, wish them well and avoid their energy.

Please also try to learn to dowse. At least for the ability to discern for yourself the truth of a matter, any matter. That of course goes for anything you hear on the mainstream media.

And as for the mainstream media, or anything else mainstream. Remember it is very controlled and very much propaganda, always question, always.

Grow a garden, learn about gardening if you have no experience, this will be vital. If you have no space of your own, try to secure a space in a garden share, and be willing to do the work.

If you have some small space, try container gardening. This won't feed you through a hard winter, but it will give you access to freshly grown produce. And try some winter greens in the same containers. Things like kale, parsley, wheat grass, etc. High vitamin fare, to help sustain your health. There is a huge selection of reading to learn, classes offered, advice to seek out, please do so.

As you have most certainly will already have heard, gas is going up. This will make many other things extremely expensive if they have to be shipped. You may have to rethink your
transportation to work, school, shopping. Even if it goes down in price, it will go up again. This situation is not going to go away.

Re-cycle, re-purpose, up-cycle, re-use. Do all of them, think what can I do with this, how can I up-cycle? What is up-cycle anyway. That is taking something and giving it a really special purpose, and for the particulars, I suggest you devote some time to research. I have read articles where a young couple used old plates, old greeting cards, old linens from thrift shops and so on to give their wedding reception a nice affordable way to use old things, and then donated a lot of it back to charity. I am sure there is a multitude of ways to learn all about this and then come up with a plan for all of the above uses.

My mantra, look around at used before new whenever possible.

I love old furniture, not antiques necessarily, but good used stuff. I have this old coffee table I bought some years ago for $10. It is scratched, but is really cool, and I love to put my feet up on it, and do not feel bad doing it. It has character. So look around when you need something for your house. Good repaired appliances can be purchased at places where they do this sort of thing, at a fraction of the cost of new. And often with a little warranty of a time period of up to 90 days. And they can be repaired, remember that. Still cheaper than brand new. I have been there done that.

Re-use your old clothes, or give to charity, a clothes swap, and then buy other things at a second hand or thrift store, Goodwill, etc. Some things can't be re-worn, then I would suggest buying some very well made things like socks and underwear, and learning to mend.

Be extra cautious about your personal security, both bodily, online, and your car and home. There will be a huge increase in crime of property, robbery, and identity. Please pay heed to this. I wish I was not joking, but it is already happening.

Open up your home and heart to family members, when the need arises, but also be prepared to be up front that it is not a free ride. Every one will have to do their share, from simply picking up their stuff and doing simple chores for kids, to the same for adults and then some. Helping out by earning money, doing labor intensive things like house keeping, babysitting, cooking and so on is the only way for a group of people to share expenses and a roof over their heads. This is easier said than done, but can be done. Air grievances in a non-confrontational manner within the family unit at open meetings. Pick your battles, some things you just need to overlook. This is how people used to do this a few generations back.

Try to rethink how you shop. Bulk is best for dry goods, same for frozen. However, power bills will start to rise. I myself am looking at how I can pare down ours here at home.
We are looking at a 14% hike after the first of the year. The power companies do not care about you, they care about the bottom line. Do not forget this. Now is the time to look around your house, and to think on your lighting situation also.

Freezers do cost to run, so small is better, but still can be packed well with nutritious cuts of meat, frozen veggies, but try to stay away from the processed stuff. Bad for your health, and will cost you more in the long run. Keep it simple.

Nothing will be cheap, you can already see prices rising in the stores, this is inflation and it is going to get worse.

Beans may be more affordable than meat, look to grains in bulk if it gets too hard to find affordable beef, pork, or poultry.

If you have a secure yard, where you can tuck in a couple of two to three hens do so.
Find a way to feed them first in a reasonable manner, table scraps, an area of grass to graze, and not too many birds as they will kill your grass. Keep them out of your garden area with a good high fence, or do the portable coop and move them around every couple of days. Make sure it is very secure against predators.

Those eggs can give you some resource to extra protein and nutrition. Eggs have been given a very bad and undeserved reputation. Unless you are allergic to eggs, give this some thought. Those eggs can also help with feeding a dog or cat some added nutrition in addition to what will be cheaper food, or scraps. Smaller dogs are cheaper to feed and inside a house beside companionship and love, can be great watchdogs. Which may not be such a bad idea.

Because I see the ecomony taking a nose dive, slowly at first, but still moving in a
manner that will impact people in a way, that if they are not paying attention, they could be between a rock and a hard spot very quickly. It has happened, is happening now, and will continue to happen next year. We have so many people who would love to have a job, not lose their homes, or have to go the local food pantry to feed their kids.

If you do garden, try the grow a row for the hungry philosophy if you can. Or just share with others as much as possible, or swap with them.

Inflation will really take off. And choices will have to be made, hard ones. The important thing to learn quickly here is the difference between what you want, and what you need. There is a difference. This is a train of thought that my sister and I once discussed years ago. Here is an example.

What you might want is a new cell phone, one of the really cool ones that have just come out with all the new fancy Apps. But what you need is a affordable way to communicate, so forget the fancy crap and stick to a simple older phone, a cheaper plan, and learn to not spend half your day jabbering on the damn phone or texting over some dribble. Think I joke???

Communication when important is necessary, where are your kids, parents, friends, what do they know about -------------- you fill in the blanks. What will be important to you , really important to know. What is going on, may be the single most important thing you have to know, and by that I mean, on an emergency basis. When you must find your kids, must find your way out of danger or to a place of safety. But don't overly rely on the phone either, as it may not even work someday. Have a back up plan for communication.

Find a good place to go for medical treatment. Try a nurse practioner instead of a physician for those little things that may come up, with you, your kids, your other family members. A good one will refer you if necessary, or order tests.

So as I see it, things will become a matter of choices of money spent, be creative, and do some in depth soul searching. We have all grown up with this sense of plenty, shop till you drop, the must have the newest, the best, the latest craze, fads rule us it seems.

Is the economy improving, NO NO NO, don't believe a word they tell you on the news. Tuck it in, save your change, watch your wallet. Lose the credit cards, forget the expensive vacations. Think again on your spending. Basic needs come first, and they may get hard to maintain. They already are for so many.

This is the bottom line for what I see for this country. But we are a resourceful lot, and can pull through it. But this next year is not going to be easy.
