Connecting with the Earth energy and twining the forces together

Well, after a week of cleaning kitchen cupboards, and today shampooing the carpet, I am happy to be able to post again. I am aiming for Fridays, unless something comes up.

Tuesday was Imbolc. Groundhog day, ever wonder why that day seems to have been
chosen as the day we look for spring. It was the fact that there was a discernable lengthening of daylight that the ancient people percieved that began right about this time of year. Not yet spring, but the daylight was going a bit more, occasionally some sun too.

The Earth starts her shifting in her angle towards the Sun as she travels around old Sol.
Ever so slightly. Winter is still with us, but the increased length of daylight makes us ever so wishful for Spring. Lambs are born, calves are born, birds become more active, chittering about, scratching for remnants of seeds, hiden insects that made it thru the cold months, life stirs out of it's stupor.

So today we learn to draw up the life force energy from the Earth. The ancient teachings of the yogi's called it the kundalini.

But raising the kundalini in one go was very difficult, and dangerous.

We are going to learn grounding and centering first. Do this outside if possible.
Later we will go into techniques for turning on and using the processes we learn anytime, anywhere. But now we are turning on energy centers and building the energy field.

Stand with your feet a hips width apart. Feel yourself rooted to the Earth, let the feeling of having roots, or cords out of your feet grow deep into the Earth. As deep as you will let yourself grow them.

Now take a breath, and let your stomach out as you exhale the breath, long and slow.
Do this again slowly several times, then see your energy field just as relaxed and expanded as your stomach feels. See it as if it is an unfurled flag hanging limply, slowly moving in a slight breeze.

Take a deep breath and pull your energy into the stomach area, hold it tightly, see your field pulled in like a shield all around your body.

This is the grounding and centering technique, pull your energy in hard. This is a
protective means of putting an energy barrier when you may need it , in a crowd, with someone
you feel threatened by, etc.

After a while we will talk about using the energy as a means of alerting you well ahead of time to any kind of situation you may need to shield yourself from. However not just yet.

Now, let your energy field out to about three feet around you. Keep your focus on the solar plexus, which is just below the ribs.

Allow the roots you have put into the Earth to slowly bring threads of energy up from the Earth. Do this slowly, this is important, feel the process. Close your eyes and watch the colors. You will have a different set of colors, or not, from the last exercise we did with charging up the energy field with the Sun's light. And your colors will be your own. Maybe similar to someone else's or not.

As you feel the slow rise of energy up from the Earth, remember that as it comes into your Low Chakra/Energy center, you may feel certain sensations. Do not let it become stuck there. This is a common spot for stuck energy, and has even spawned a term. "Stuck in the Root Chakra." I think we all know people who seem to have this problem.

So allow the energy to circle clockwise, three times only then have it rise to the stomach, circle three times clock wise, then come to the Solar Plexus and circle clockwise slowly.

And remain there.

Now I want you to hold your hands out, palms up and repeat the excercise of
Charging up the energy field. Catch the light energy, raise to the top of your head, and allow it
to flow downward, circling in the forehead, throat, heart, and then come to the Solar Plexus and
twine together with the Earth's energy, in a clockwise movement. With your eyes closed
observe the colors.

This point in the body serves a a bridge between the two access points of energy.
As the combined force twines and circles, raise your arms to your shoulder height, then bring your palms together in front of you, not quite touching.

Move them together with only a quarter to a half an inch between them and let yourself feel any push, or tingle. Your hands have chakra's which will strongly channel the flow of energy.

The area between the Solar Plexus and the Stomach Chakra was known at one time
as the Hara. This is the source of the Japanese term Hari Kari. A form of suicide to save face.

There is a flow of energy that is somewhat eliptical in nature in this area, and also
we have the liver, pancreas, stomach and kidney's. Very crucial to our vitality as an organism.

Allow the twining energies to slow and separate. Watch the colors as they do so.
Feel the Earth's energy slowly recede downward, and the Light's energy move to the Heart
Chakra. As the Earth's energy recedes from your feet, pull the roots up, and with your
palms, either bend, squat, or sit on the ground. Place your palms flat upon the ground, and
allow them to remain there untill you feel the charge drain away.

If you do not do this last portion of the excercise, you will find yourself very light headed and spacey. Don't worry, you will have given yourself a good charge of juice, but then
do both yourself and the Earth and favor and give her some too.

Stand upright and then stretch, however and where ever you need to.

Feels pretty good, hmmm.
